CS1 Recirculation Upgrade Kit
Description
This upgrade kit is designed to turn a normal, single-pass CS1 cone skimmer into a recirculating model. The kit includes a new base plate, as well as the fittings needed to plumb a Sicce PSK-1000 into a closed loop. Also included is a barbed elbow fitting to attach a feed line, whether from a small water pump, a manifold, or even a bypass line direct from an overflow drain pipe.
A CS1 in recirculating mode is nearly unaffected by changes in sump water level. Since the skimmer pump is working on a closed loop, the water depth can range from mere inches to almost completely submerged - even past the air silencer if extra tubing is attached to the top air intake.
Additionally, you gain fine control of skimmer throughput. Want a longer contact time for your tank water? Just slow down the feed pump rate. The skimmer will continue to pull just as much air no matter how it is adjusted. If your skimmer sits in a sump area with variable water depth, the recirc mod is for you. No more overflowing collection cup when you accidentally raise the water level by an inch.
